Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss comes originally from California, was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. The couple divorced in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally neglected. In the year 19 she was appointed the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. She later set up her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice President for the Lakers. Buss, her five brothers and sisters and their father, who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder until his death in 2013, took over this ownership through an estate. The five siblings had equal voting rights. Buss assumed the position as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotion company that is based in Los Angeles.
