Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. The first song to feature her voice was called Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now component of her repertoire. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on his stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as Choral Director of Dreamgirls, the theatre production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
