Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had an ethnically Jewish background. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder's parents relocated her and her siblings to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. They was in a house that didn't have electric power. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder was 12 when she was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, when she was 15 years young. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout high school. Her performing career, she thought to help, could have helped her. However, it didn't come be. However, she was determined to pursue her dreams. Her breakthrough occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in various films. In 1993 she won an Academy Awards for The Age of Innocence.
